Tillie Consul

Tillie Consul

Tillie Lieke (or Liecke, originally Lihkis) immigrated to the United States in 1888. She was a daughter of Otto Sr. and Philomena Lieke (or Wilhelmina or Minnie)1, and a sister to Ferdinand Lieke. Five years later, she married2 a fellow Latvian Baptist, William Consul. In 1910, the couple lived at 354 Wolf St. in Philadelphia with their 1-year-old son, according to the U.S. census.3 She was 22 at the time. In 1920, the couple lived at 4129 Parrish St. in Philadelphia with their son Robert W. (born in Pennsylvania) and daughter Beatrice (born in Pennsylvania), according to that year's census.4 She worked as a helper in a ball bearing plant. Also living in the house was the Hans Eagle (Egle) family. By the time of the 1930 census, the Consul family had moved to East Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, into a home that included Otto Sr. and Wilhelmina, as well as 26-year-old Otto Lieke Jr.5
