Edward Redowitz

Edward Redowitz was born November 23, 1892, in Lubin (Novgorod), Russia, the son of David and Anna (née Petralewitz) Redowitz.¹ The family, including Edward, his parents, and sisters Jennie and Amalie, immigrated to the U.S. in May 1905 aboard the S.S. Armenia.² He married Anna Yugla in June 1915 in New York. By June 1917, according to his draft registration, he and his wife, daughter Ellenor, and mother were living at 5111 Hoopes St. in Philadelphia. He worked for pharmaceutical business H.K. Mulford Co. in Glenolden, Pennsylvania.

Three years later, the 1920 federal census found Edward, Anna, and Ellenor still on Hoopes Street. (It is not clear what happened to Edward's mother, Anna. According to the 1920 census, his father and sisters were living at 4214 Parrish St. in Philadelphia.) By the time of the 1940 census, Edward, Anna, and another daughter, 18-year-old Judith, were living in Glenolden.³ Edward worked as a medical technologist. He died in January 1976.⁴
