Anna Redowitz

Anna Redowitz

Anna Redowitz was born in 1895 in Latvia, the daughter of John and Lizzie (née Sculmis or Skulme) Yugla. Her family immigrated to the United States in 1906 and initially lived in New York, where Anna worked as a dressmaker, according to the 1915 New York census.1 She married Edward Redowitz in June 1915 in New York. According to the 1920 federal census, the couple and their 3-year-old daughter, Ellenor, lived at 5111 Hoopes St. in Philadelphia. Also living in Philadelphia was Anna's sister, Dorothy Yugla.

By the time of the 1940 census, Anna, Edward, and another daughter, 18-year-old Judith, were living in Glenolden.2 Edward worked as a medical technologist. Anna Redowitz died Dec. 4, 1951, at the age of 67.3 She is buried in Hillside Cemetery in Roslyn, Pennsylvania.
