Dorothy Yugla

Dorothy Yugla, born about 1900, was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Yugla. The family, including a step-son, John Skulme, and another daughter, Anna, immigrated to the United States in 1908 and in 1915 was living in New York.1 Dora and Anna were mentioned in a correspondence from New York published in the Feb. 15, 1912, issue of the Rīga-based Baptist periodical Avots. They were among youths mentioned as recent converts to the Baptist faith. By the time of the 1920 federal census, Dorothy, John, and their parents lived at 4120 Pennsgrove St. in Philadelphia. Also in the home was a boarder, Nathan Niskoff, 27.
