Anna Zirs

Anna Zirs was born in Latvia on Feb. 10, 1896, the daughter of Egor and Anna Zirs.

She married Latvian immigrant and cabinet maker Charles Robert Schamait on May 31, 1919, in Philadelphia in a ceremony led by the Rev. Peter Buschmann.¹ At the time, she worked as a housekeeper and lived in Philadelphia.

By the time of the 1930 federal census, the couple was living in Camden, New Jersey, with their two daughters, 9-year-old Elvira and 4-year-old Vivian.²
